Arizona – Great list of places you need to visit, Pictures & Advice

Arizona is called ‘The Grand Canyon State’, and rightly so. The Grand Canyon is one of the crown jewels in the American National Parks system, but there is so much more to do in Arizona than just the Grand Canyon. You could spend weeks in the state and not come close to exhausting the opportunities.

The canyons of waterways leading into the Grand Canyon offer many memorable landscapes. Mountains dot the landscape. Cinder cones and recent lava flows are volcanic remainders of past eruptions. Anasazi ruins offer glimpses to the past amid the varied deserts of Arizona, where varied cacti add beauty to the desolation. Forked Saguaro and organ pipe cactus tower over dense cholla and prickly pear with their orange and pink spring blossoms.

Below are pictures of some of the great places I have visited in Arizona. Click each picture to read my detailed article of each place, complete with hi-res pictures, directions and tips to see it for yourself. Spend some time reading here, and I think you will want to add Arizona to your list of places you want to visit.
